Outstanding James Ward-Prowse deserves England call-up, says Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier
James Ward-Prowse deserves a place in the England squad thanks to his outstanding performances for Southampton, says St Marys legend Matt Le Tissier.The midfielder missed out in a spot in the original squad for Euro 2020 qualifiers against Czech Republic and Montenegro, but was drafted in by Gareth Southgate on Monday after injuries to Fabian Delph and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.2

Ward-Prowse was England Under-21s captain under Southgate and was first promoted to the senior squad in March 2017, making his debut against Germany.The 24-year-olds return to the senior team is a reward for his brilliant form in a Saints shirt under new manager Ralph Hasenhuttl.He has six goals from his last nine games for Southampton, including a match-winning free kick against Tottenham.He deserves it, Southampton hero Le Tissier told talkSPORT on Tuesdays Sports Breakfast.For the last couple of months he has been outstanding.
