Callum Hudson-Odoi: Chelsea star issues positive update after ‘successful’ surgery on ruptured Achilles
Callum Hudson-Odoi has undergone successful surgery on his ruptured Achilles, the Chelsea winger confirmed.In a video posted from his hospital bed, the 18-year-old thanked fans for their support and turned his focus towards the ‘road to recovery’.

Hudson-Odoi suffered the injury during the Blues’ 2-2 draw with Burnley on Monday night.A ruptured Achilles can require up to nine months of recovery – and he is already facing a race against time to be fit for the start of next season.Hudson-Odoi said: “Hi guys, thank you for all the messages and support that you have been sending me, really appreciate it. “I am doing better and feeling better, so thank you very much and (it’s) just the road to recovery now. Thank you.”The caption read: “Operation was successful. Thank God always and thank you all for your messages and support, the return begins now!!!”
