Born in London to parents from Trinidad and Tobago, Sancho spent most of his childhood at Watford. Sancho continued to go from strength-to-strength and quickly established himself as one of the academy’s brightest stars.After two years at City, chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak revealed Sancho would be fast-tracked into the senior set-up.However, in July 2017, Sancho was omitted from the pre-season tour squad due to a dispute over assurances of playing time in a new contract. He subsequently began to force a move away from the club. On 31 August 2017, Sancho joined Borussia Dortmund for a reported fee of 8million. The club immediately awarded him the number 7 shirt which had been vacated by Barcelona-bound Ousmane Dembele.He had to wait for his opportunities with Dortmund. Sancho became the first Englishman to play a Bundesliga match for the club when he made his debut in October 2017 against Eintracht Frankfurt.His first goal in professional football came on April 21 earlier this year.
